How M P'ap Regrete Started

The story behind an upcoming dark and ethereal pop ballad planned for release before the end of 2026.

I had the idea for M P'ap Regrete on the night of July 25, 2026. The lyrics were still unfinished, but I recorded the first demo that night while a simple piano loop played from my laptop. I sang the parts I had written and hummed through the rest so I would not lose the song.

I like recording my vocals while I am still excited about a song. When I am feeling an idea, I want to capture it before my interest moves somewhere else. On July 26, I continued writing and recorded several short ideas for the verses, ad-libs, and other melodies. Some of them developed further, while others were left unused.

M P'ap Regrete means "I Will Not Regret." It is a dark, sad, and ethereal pop ballad about loss and the memories people leave with us. The story can connect to the end of a relationship, the loss of a friendship, distance, death, or any experience that separates us from someone important.

M p'ap regrete moman nou yo
Tout sa'n konn pataje

Some people and some memories are too valuable to be forgotten. Even when someone is no longer part of your life, what you shared with them can stay with you. The conversations, the beautiful words, and the moments you experienced together can continue to mean something years later.

That feeling continues in the second verse:

Pa g'on bagay ki ka retire'w nan kè m
Nenpòt jan l ye, lespri w ap toujou avè m

The song carries sadness, but it also carries appreciation. Losing someone cannot take away the value of knowing them. M P'ap Regrete is my way of holding on to that feeling and saying that the memories will always have a place in me.

The song is still in development, and I plan to release it before the end of 2026. I have not selected an official release date yet. I will keep this article updated as I finish the song and confirm the final production, cover artwork, credits, and release information.
