More Than Just Sugar Cane
"Kann Kale" literally translates to "peeled sugar cane." It might sound like it's about a sweet and refreshing treat, but is it really just about that?
The song dives deeper into metaphor. I've always been drawn to bold and unapologetic lyrics. After moving to the U.S., I discovered parody-style music and how fearless and humorous it can be. That inspired me to write this song.
In the song, the sugar cane represents a man's penis, long, sweet, and tempting. It's a cheeky metaphor used to deliver the message in a playful, suggestive tone.
The Story Behind The Song
"Kann Kale" isn't even my most provocative track. That title probably goes to "Pete'm Boum", which some people found uncomfortable. Still, this one pushes boundaries in its own way.
I started writing Kann Kale during the pandemic, on June 2, 2020. I released an early version that same year, but it was poorly recorded and sounded mediocre, so I deleted it.
I reworked the instrumental and re-released the song in 2021 as my first official single. It is now available on all major streaming platforms.
